FiiO M15S Digital Audio Player – ES9038PRO, 1200mW Balanced

The FiiO M15S is a flagship portable hi-res digital audio player for listeners wanting desktop-class sound that travels. Its desktop ES9038PRO DAC uses eight independent D/A converters paired with dual OPA926 amplifiers, while a FiiO-developed 4th-gen FPGA and two NDK femtosecond crystal oscillators set a precise, low-jitter clock for the whole audio path. FiiO also gives it desktop heritage borrowed from the M17 and Q7: desktop mode, a choice of two power supply modes, and five gain levels.

Power output is where the M15S stands out: up to 1200mW per channel from the balanced 2.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, alongside 3.5mm single-ended, shared line outputs, and coaxial. Five gain levels suit everything from sensitive IEMs to demanding over-ear headphones within FiiO's stated 8-350 ohm balanced range. The dedicated desktop mode draws all power from USB fast charging so the battery neither charges nor discharges, protecting its lifespan.

The player runs six operating modes: Android mode for streaming apps, FiiO's Pure Music mode, USB DAC, Bluetooth receiver, AirPlay, and Roon Ready. It decodes MQA full 8x, plays files up to 384kHz/DSD256 natively, and expands via TF card up to 2TB (theoretical). A leather case and DK3S heat-dissipation dock are included.
