Description
The Yamaha R-S202 is a Natural Sound stereo receiver built for straightforward two-channel listening — streaming, CD, tuner and more through one amplifier. Bluetooth support with SBC and AAC codecs lets a smartphone or tablet send music to the receiver wirelessly, while 100 W per channel of rated output (8 ohms, 40 Hz–20 kHz, 0.2% THD) drives a main stereo pair at home volume. Yamaha's circuit design places the power transformer near the amplifier stage and joins signal and power grounds at one point, an arrangement the company says reduces noise and supports high-volume output. A 40-station FM/AM preset memory with auto preset keeps favorite stations one button away, and the speaker selector supports two systems — A, B or A+B — so a second room or speaker pair can share the same receiver. A front headphone terminal serves private listening, and a power-management function switches the unit to standby (0.5 W) after a selectable 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours. The brushed-finish front panel and simple remote layout keep daily use uncluttered.
